Open Question: How long does it take for a mare to produce quality milk after diet is boosted?
I acquired a very thin mare yesterday who had given birth to a palomino filly. The mare is in very needy condition showing definite backbone and every her ribs and hips. I bought the filly and they loaned me the mare for free to lift the filly. I will find a good home for the mare as weaning time approaches. (that's the plan anyway) I am feeding the mare 1 gallon 14% sweet feed with 1/3 corn mixed in and 1 cup calf manna on top.She gets this 2X daily, and every the grass she wants The question is, how long will it take the milk to improve in quality and quantity?

Open Question: Student loan! has this been missold?
When I took out my student loans (96'97'&98') I was told that after 10 years deffering then it would be wrote off. Now it would seem that what it was is that if you were below 40 years old then it would be settled when you reach 50. This has me thinking that this was mis-sold as it was only related to us by the senior lecturer. What do you think i could do about this? Libby - no reason to disbelieve what we were told. I'm sure that there are certain rules that should be followed when selling loans, eg, the person should not be below the influence of alcohol, or it is invalid if sold in a pub.

Open Question: Is trading in a car the same as the dealership buying it back?
I want to receive rid of my financed car and receive another one. From my understanding, trading in the car will leave me with alot of negative equity. And the research I've done for the dealership buying back the car states that they pay the car loan in full. Is this true? How can I receive out of the negative equity? My life has changed drastically and my tiny car isn't baby friendly at every...

Open Question: Universities' admission policy?
I know this question may sound a bit odd but I wish it's understandable every the same. Let's say that I can't afford university and I have to contract a loan. Do I have to contract this loan before even sending my application (to show the uni I'm applying to that I actually can afford it thoroughly) or only afterwards, in case I'm admitted? Or do you only have to guarantee you'll be able to pay just for one year? I think the second option is more logical because you have to do contract a loan only when you're sure of being admitted. But I'm not sure...who can help me?

Open Question: How should employers manage change from weekly to monthly pay?
I work for a firm that are currently undertaking the change from weekly to monthly pay. The employees were first advised the company were thinking of making a change through a letter in our payslips one week, suggesting that anyone with any issues receive in contact with management (they also mentioned help through interest free loans would be available). Then the next week we had another letter stating that as no grievances had been aired, the change would be implemented starting the next month, our last weekly pay-slip would be on September 2nd (being for the week ending 27th August). This letter also stated we would receive 2 additional days wages in this pay-slip (to cover 30th & 31st September), and the next pay-slip would be for one month (arriving the end of September). However, when our last weekly pay-slip arrived, it was for just a 5 day week. We were told verbally that the computer system (Sage) won't allow the payment of these two days. Although we have asked for the payment of these 2 days wages to be paid in our next (September) pay packet, we have been told that they will be split over the next 7 months. It seems that the way they have calculated this is by taking what has already been paid to each of us this year, taking this away from our calculated annual salary, and dividing by 7. Although I realise we will receive thew same amount in total, my question relates to the 2 days pay from the end of August. Are the company within their rights to hold this back from us for so long?

Open Question: Should I take my loan officer or mortgage company to court?
Our escrow was supposed to close on August 13, 2010. We would have been able to close on time, but the underwriter ordered some "desk review" of our appraisal and demanded more comps to support our price. The appraiser mysteriously got these comps after looking for DAYS--btw, we have not received a copy of this desk review yet. We ended up closing on August 17, 2010 ( 2 days after the state of California stopped accepting applications for the $10,000 home buying tax credit--California has apparently run out of funds). Do I have any recourse at every against the underwriter or my loan officer that lagged on ordering the initial appraisal and had us date some papers earlier so that she remains in compliance. I think it was the GFE or the appraisal order that had to be done within 72 hours of them running our credit. One of these forms was the one we were asked to change the date on. Could I receive the $10,000 that they cost me from a government program I would have qualified for? Does that even sound like a case?

Open Question: How much money have you saved up?
I'm a new college student and am currently paying off my first big bill for the upcoming semester (the fee in full must be paid by the 8th... *gulp*). My school doesn't accept payment by credit so I have to dip into my personal savings. I didn't take out any loans. So anyways, it felt strangely good to pay for it myself, but I can't help but receive nervous. I only have a net savings of about $13K after paying for my first semester+books. I'm curious to how true this "starving college student" stereotype is? How much money do you have, the net total after debt, savings, etc. is factored in? Do you work? And is it normal to have little to no money in your only savings account? :S

Open Question: My fiance has just been accepted into an apprenticeship but we're struggling to find the funding?
My other half has just been accepted onto one of the best electrician apprenticeships in Europe. Out of 72 applicants a week he was one of 12 that got accepted. It would be the ideal thing for him as this is what he wants to do and he is really getting down about the financial state. The catch is the course over every is £16,000. They have already paid for half therefore we obviously need to find another £8000. Does anyone know of any government schemes or loans or anything he could look at to try and find a soloution? Any answers highly appreciated.

Open Question: Good job off set no down-payment on car loan?
I have a leased 2004 Focus that I want to trade in early. (2007 lease, ends in Jan) Last year I went into the dealership, but because I wasn't at a high paying job, and I have past bad credit, I was hit with a double digit interest rate. quick forward a year, now I'm at a much higher paying job, and wish to try again. I'd like to look what I can receive without anything down, and I'm curious if the better job will help me out this time?

Open Question: How to go to Uni in canada from the uk!?
I'm a 17 year old British student, and right now there is a lot of pressure on us to find a decent university etc etc. And I have. Unfortunately its Toronto University. Basically I always wanted to study journalism. Something that is woefully below catered to here in the UK. I also wanted to continue studying philosophy. I will admit I'm really not the smartest student. At this point in time my grades are, well, Average. No hugely descent university's in the UK offer journalism, and being that I've always wanted to be a Travel Writer it seems pretty key. But besides from the fact it seems to be the only way I will receive a good degree in my situation, there in an unending list of social and personal reasons why I would want to live there and not here. and its given me something to steer for at least where as before I wasn't really aiming for anything because as i said, no good universities do Journalism in the UK. they do philosophy however but I have no chance in hell of getting into those places, and I don't want to. So with the explanation of my situation my question is, How do I apply? How much will it cost me? what are the entry requirements? Will there be any company that will give me a loan? is it possible? And yes I have studied this extensively online. So far I've found it impossible to find any facts or anything actually helpful. And if anyone knows the entry requirements for my two subjects specifically I would be really grateful. Thanks a lot.

Open Question: Is this considered illegal? What't it called?
Joe Schmo takes out a tiny loan to buy a vehicle, say, a $3000 loan. Joe also charges thousands on credit cards knowing it's can't / won't be paid for. He bought plenty of building supplies, a washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher, Shower, toilet, stove, and some basic less expensive things. Joe then promptly files for bankruptcy But continues to pay off car loan on time, without missing any payments. What will happen to Joe's car and things he bought with his credit cards? Can those items be repossessed? What if Joe takes out a personal loan to buy the same things off of, rather than charging them on the credit cards? Give me as much info as you can about this. And yes. I know it will ruin the dude's credit. I don't think what my pal is slowly doing is right, or even legal.

Open Question: Transferring to Columbia College Chicago...?
Hello everyone! Well, in January I am going to transfer to Columbia College Chicago and was just needing a little insight. My efc (expected family contribution from the FAFSA) is 0. I have between a 3.0 and 3.5 grade point average, and in the spring semester I will be a sophmore. My questions are: - I know I will have to take out loans. That's fine. Do you think I will be given enough loans to cover the cost of attendance (18,000) WITHOUT the need of a cosigner (I don't have one). I would like to live in Chicago too so maybe I would need extra for room and board (but I would want to live off-campus, it's cheaper). -Do you think I could find an apartment (with or without a roomie) close to the loop for no more than $1000? My main concern was financing the tuition and room and board. I have no problem with the idea of loans, I was just wondering if I would be given enough but I heard from other people that the students are given enough money. So that's 13,000 for tuition (i receive the full pell grant aand may actually receive other grants or scholarhsips when I receive my acceptance letter) and about 6-8,0000 for room and board. Thanks for the insight! Oh, and if anyone knows a place where I could search for roomies that don't charge a fee please let me know :)

Open Question: Is this elder abuse or I just jumping to conclusions?
The history is long but I am going tried to make is to the point. A relative who is the caregiver of his mom. He put his name on her property and bank account. He force her out of her possess home. The mom is renting out a home down the road from her son. The son use her money to pay her rent but not her bills. Every month is does not buy her any groceries. She does not have food in her home. However, he goes and fill his home up with food. The son's ex-girlfriend attacked his mom and hurt her badly. The son did not do anything about it. The mom is afraid of the son. The mom's rental agent had put a for sale sign up on her property. The son angrily snatched the signed out of the ground. The son took a loan out on his mom home to fix his home up. Next, for order his sister to be able to stay with their mom. The mom have to asked the son permission so the sister could stayed with the mom. The sister have to pay rent to him and the bills where mom lives. Mind you, the property is not his and the mom is renting from a owner of the property. If the sister does not pay him rent for staying with their mom. He cause bodily hurt to her or anyone that want to stay with the mom. Not only that he suppose to pay the mom rent from her bank account and provide her food. He collecting extra rent money from the relatives and he don't possess the property. Now, both of the houses are in default of payment. The mom is losing her home and the son is losing his home. The son is still staying at his home for now. The son rent out his mom home to his niece and her boyfriend and kids. This story gets more interesting. The son mention about insurance he nice of boast about. However, his family members has been dying every two years. In the same month and date and 2 years apart. He mention that he had over 65,000 dollars but he did not say how he got it. I believe from death insurances. One of his family member told another family member that the mom's son wanted her Identification card and her social security number. When she would not give it to him. She came up dead. The mom's son lied to the hospital personnel and the doctors that she was married and she was not to receive the insurance. She was very much scared of him at that time. Third, the mom's son had another relative to murdered another relative. These words was spoken: I had to take him out of his misery. Every time the mom's kids dies. The mom's son will tell the other siblings to tell everybody it was cancer that the other siblings died of. One sibling was smart. She called the morgue and asked the cause of death. The lady informed her that cause of death was not stated because the next to kin have to request an autopsy. And, no autopsy was done. The lady stated that the only thing they do is state that the person die of natural death on the death certificate. Then the same sibling called the poison hot-line to receive information of what type of poison could kill a person quickly and what type of poison kill them slowly. The sibling found that if you catch the poison in 24 hr you know what it is. And, there are poisons that you just can not trace in a matter of time. She tried to receive a autopsy but, she was last of kin not the next of kin. And, she had to have approval of her mom. But, with the mom's son in the picture she would not be able to do it. The mom was too afraid of the son to agreed to the autopsy. Now, the other sibling is dying slowly but surely and the mom's son has insurance out on her. She telling everybody that she has cancer. But her sibling did not believe her and question about it. The sister retracted her statement about cancer. But, she would not tell her what she was dying from fear of telling the truth would cause her death faster. The younger sibling doesn't know what to do. The law enforcement is not going to receive involved and everybody is to afraid to arrive forward due to retaliation from the mom's son. Sorry for the long story but this every ties in together. Is there any way that she could help her mom and her siblings from the hands of this sociopath. Only serious people apply. Thank you so much

Open Question: Can we sign a prenup so the people sueing me can't take my future husbands money?
Me and my fiance have put off our wedding for months now... We still haven't been able to decide a date due to wondering when the final court date is that settles my lawsuit I am in. I got in a car accident when I was 16 a long time ago. The court keeps legally pushing back the date and the lady wont settle. This october we either find out a final date OR it gets pushed back more.. (Which I wouldn't be surprised considering the womans past employer is ignoring my lawyers letters, calls, etc) Me and my fiance are done waiting! The reason we have been waiting is becuase we were worried that if this case went to court the judge will look, what would then be my husbands, money, stocks, property and take it. I don't have any money considering I am a college student up to my chin in student loans. I don't mind them garnishing my check for the relax of my life - but I don't want them taking my fiance's money. It isn't fair. (By the way - we live in Colorado which isn't a community property state) SO we thought maybe if we sign a prenup that will make it so they can't take his stuff after we are married. is this true? Is there anything we can do to receive out of this?

Open Question: Where are all these people living that pay babysitter's $10 and hour?!?
I keep seeing on here that people are paying teenage babysitters 10 dollars an hour or more. I can look if you're talking once in a while so you can go out on a Saturday night, but for after school care? Or while you're working? Where in the world are every of these people from? And what percentage of their income are they spending on childcare? Minimum wage is $7.50 an hour. At the rates these people are talking about it's no wonder the unemployment rate is so high. You'd need to take out a loan in order to pay someone to watch your kids while you went to work. Hey "me"... I'm a SAHM. My husband is an electrician and we have never received any type of government assistance, so you are welcome to apologize for your snarkiness. I'm asking this mainly because I know that the vast majority of the people I know make significantly less than $150 a day. If you're making minimum wage and need childcare 5 hours a week, then you're paying out a sixth of your income just to be able to take a night class that will hopefully help you land a better job. Insane. And I'm not talking about professional nannies, these are high school students who feel that babysitting is worth 25% more than any other job they would be considered qualified for. Tamra, here in the states there are a lot of people who would let a trained monkey babysit their kids if it meant they could afford to pay a sitter on Saturday night and still afford to pay for their dinner out. LOL

Open Question: If Muhammad was not a true prophet why he chose to live like a poor man?
I got the chance to read about the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Ramadan. I noticed that in the last 10 years of his life, he was ruler of a big country, but he chose to live as a pauper. Reported by Abu Imamah, the prophet said: " Allah offered me to make the valley of Makkah of Gold, but I begged, ' I like to be hungry one day and eat the other, so that on first day, I could sob in front of you and on the second, thank You from depth of my heart'." Similarly His wife Ayesha reported that Allah's prophet never used to eat much and could not snooze in the nights due to hunger and kept turning right and left. I used to say, "What if only we had something to satisfy our hunger " and he used to say " I am like a traveler in the world. My preceding prophets lived simply and earned a lot for the hereinafter and nothing could be more pleasant for me to meet them in the paradise." The day he died, there was no oil to light his home and his shield was on ransom for a loan. (Madarij annabuat, Nisaei) My Question is, can such a pious and committed person be an impostor? 3 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.

Open Question: Would you dump your boyfriend if he refused to pay you back the $200 you loaned him more than 2 years ago?
He says he feels he doesnt owe it to me anymore since its been 2 years?! WTF!! It was CLEARLY a loan of $40 here, $25 there , which has added up to $200. I told him his tab every step of the way. Anyways, he's now made it clear he has NO INTENTION of paying me back, and basically he could care less that he owes me $200. He actually said "What are you going to do? Take me to Judge Judy?" He made it clear he feels like hes not even obligated to pay me back, or work it off in installments or whatever. What would you do?

Open Question: Hey you redneck, why don't you educate yourself, stop listening to glen dumbassbeck?
Do you believe in the American Dream? Is it worth working difficult for? People say, pursue the American dream - which is mainly big home, nice car, two kids, and live in the suburbs. They also mean that you would have a good job that will pay for it every. Is this true? I lived in America and China equally in length. I am born from America, so I know what I am talking about. I find living in America to be far from the fantasy that people claim it to be. I find living in China to be far from what American's claim it to be, a third world and a bad place. I guess it really depends on who you are, skin color does matter in this case. I am AmericanBorn Chinese Man. For me, America is a place where making money is of primary concern to most people. It is not a place where culture, etiquette, family values, integrity, humility, humbleness is a concern. These intangibles receive in the way of making money, so they are cast aside. Americans focus on making money at every costs, they look cheating as a legitimate method to receive through college to receive good grades and receive employed. Cheating in sports is seen as common and expected and people who commit it without being caught, wear it as a badge of honor. Examples? How about the cheating steroids culture of Baseball, track and field, and football. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. You also have wallstreet whitecollar cocky arrogant thugs doing there shameless deeds. Americans adore drugs, they consume so much of it that it keeps mexican cartels in business and overtaking the government. You also have this idea of the 2nd amendment in the constitution, the right to bear arms. These redneck hicks carry guns and sell it to anybody on the road, ie. Mexican cartels, and it kills freely. But yet, the so called "Freedoms" of America is glad to not tread on the retarded policy because of their unwillingness to admit, their constitution is a farce, outdated peace of phony jiberish. Look at the "freedoms" that allow americans to do what they want. Without any moral code, they celebrate freedoms by eating drugs, having sex with anyone married or not, claim to be christians yet act contrary to it when behind closed doors, these so call freedoms that americans claim to be so proud of, they can't handle it with responsibilities. do they deserve freedoms when they abuse it in such a way that makeup the popular american culture with tabloid trash as a good representation of their moral code? this is american freedom culture, do you want this nice of smut going global? I don't, but go ahead you whitepeople, you guys are lame. It takes 2 people working like dogs to maintain a home. People in america do not possess their home or car, it is on loan. also, people take out loans to go to college and it takes a lifetime to pay the loan back, also retirement savings by americans is deficient, also americans eat poorly, they eat fat, sugar, salt in excess and have the most heart attacks, strokes, and cancers than any other country in the world. their health care system is built for the wealthy, and the needy die without medical help. usa is only good for the wealthy and the moraless, it is a country made for decadent behavior. those that are decadent are catered to and praised. i think someone should bomb the beast.

I applied for an car loan for about $10,000, I was denied. But I think I might have a better chance of getting a personal loan at a lower amount, but I'm wondering how long I should wait before I try to apply again. Btw, it's at the same bank.

Open Question: Do you believe in the American Dream? Is it worth working hard for?

Open Question: Am I allowed to use this for my name? (Hyphenated last name trouble)?
So my name is really long? I'm not going to say what it is but let's just say it sounds like Macaroni-Lavoie. If this was my name I'd prefer to be called Stephen Lavoie but I go to school and I'm applying for college also and I'm thinking about changing my name once I turn 18. How would this effect my college transcripts/student loans/scholarships?

Open Question: What can my friend do to pay for his post-secondary in this situation?
I posted this below Higher Education before noticing the Financial Aid category. My pal is entering his 3rd year of university. These are the details of his situation: - 4 year photography/media program - He lives with his parents but they have essentially disowned him and refuse to help him financially in any way, shape, or form (other than letting him live in their home) - his parents are about to separate anyway, adding problems of finding a place to the mix because he's being kicked out - He's worked numerous part-time jobs, but has low savings because everything he earns goes for his tuition, books, supplies, transit in that same year - OSAP (gov. loan) continues to re-assess him and, though he's fought them and been really smart about it, they have lowered his loan to $2000 - he's gone to his counsellors and family members for help with no success - he went directly to his financial advisor to talk about a student line of credit and was refused because his income is too low and, again, his family members would not help by co-signing - HE CANNOT take a year off to work because this year marks the final year of his school program before they revamp the entire career stream and change every of the courses and the degree Other then selling a few of his possessions (which would not amount to much), no one can offer up a solution. He might have enough for the first semester, but the total for the year is about $6000 (not including cost of living, transit, supplies, and books). He must go to school to complete his curriculum below the original program or it will set him back (probably to the point where his first two years mean nothing and he'll have to start every over). every of his friends are heart-broken. He's in the top 10% of his program and is a genuinely smart and caring guy. No one knows how to help him ='( Any advice would be immensely appreciated!

Open Question: Will I be able to get a loan fafsa?
I was wondering if i should even try to receive a loan from financial aid. My mom owns a business and right now she isn't where she use to be money wise compared to last year. My dad is unemployed and is getting disability pension. In 2009 my moms annual income was 50,000, and I'm the only dependent so I was wondering how likely it would be that I would even receive offered a loan. Thank you so much for your time and answers! I'm a sophomore btw. I was able to receive a some grants last year because my mom's business didn't really do so good in 2008.

Open Question: How to decline a Parents PLUS Loan?
I was offered a Parents PLUS loan and even applied for it because we thought we needed it, but turns out we don't anymore. When I go to my student portal on the website, it doesn't have the option to decline anymore... If the financial aid office still gives me the check, can I send it back immediately so I won't be charged a fee and won't be charged any interest rates?

Open Question: What purpose do low interest rates serve?
Cui bono ? Whose good ? Low interest rates are good news for mortgage holders on variable rates. They are bad news for savers. They have not translated into any considerable increase in bank loans to firms with cash flow problems (the banks are understandably sniffy about taking risks) and relatively few firms are looking to borrow to invest. When bank loans are given, the interest rates are many, many times higher than bank rate - as are the rates charged by credit card companies. To the extent that the economy is recovering, this seems to be due to restocking and to cheaper exports in the wake of the low value of the GB £. Enlightenment please !

Open Question: Does anyone have any suggestions about how to become un-sheltered?
It has recently arrive to my attention that the world changed around me when I wasn't looking and I forgot how to receive back into it. When I talk to people I haven't seen in a while, they either lecture me on how to live life, which pisses me off, or tell me I'm sheltered, which pisses me off. I have traveled to other countries, lived on my possess, had a boyfriend who lived with me, learned two languages, an since forgotten them from lack of use, and worked in every industry known to man. In short, I am asking if anyone can guide me to receive back in to the swing of things and become un-sheltered. This is the newest insult added to my ego from old friends? Any suggestions on what to do to receive out there? P.S. and how the hell people can afford to go on three vacations, rent an apartment and receive paid on 10 bucks an hour. With this economy I wish to god it's not a loan.

Open Question: Is there any assistance for my underwater mortgage in California?
We bought our central valley home in 04, interest only which expired in 08. We then refinanced to another interest only loan at 7.25% which rolls over in 2018. Since 08, our financial circumstances have changed and making our payment is difficult. We have tried to refinance, but BOFA says that unless we can arrive up with $65K, it will not be possible. We then requested that at minimum, our Mortgage Insurance Premium be dropped which would reduce our payment by $140 but again we hear that our LTV prohibits this. We owe $256,500 and our home Zillows around $195,000 (yes our bank tells us that they use Zillow). We have never been tardy or missed a payment on any loan and have credit scores of 770 and 805. My pal who CAN afford his mortgage but simply does not like his terms, was told by his attorney to cease paying his mortgage in order to receive the bank to take action, so to date he has not made a payment in 5 months, YET is living in his home and BOFA is working to refinance his loan. I find this extremely unethical and it disgusts me to the point that I can hardly look at him. The Obama bail outs did nothing for most CA home owners b/c most LTV are over the requirements even for those! IS THERE ANY HELP FOR US THAT WILL NOT HURT OUR CREDIT? Missing a payment to receive the banks attention is a NON-OPTION for us.

Open Question: It feels like I awoke in another planet. Would you do this to your best friend?
Say you have a pal who has done alot for you; helped you buy both your daughter and yourself computers, loaned you money to pay your bills, took you shopping and bought both you and your daughter clothes etc. Your pal is friends with a guy she was once engaged to but she broke off the engagment because she didn't think she was ready but she still has feelings for her ex and they are friends now. You didn't like her ex fiance at first but you and he were friends now. What would you do if your friends ex fiance that she still has feelings for offered to buy you and your daughter cell phones for your birthday and put them on his plan with the agreement that you pay the monthly fees? This would be cheaper for you than the prepaid phones you've been using but you live with your mom so you really aren't in a fiancial bind. You know that doing so is going to upset your pal though. Would you do this and do you think you should discuss it with your pal first. Or is it something that is just off limits?

Open Question: Need help with college loan info please?
I started online college in January 2006 at FMU now Everest. I signed up and completed 78 credit hours. Due to economical changes I was forced to post pone school for a while so I dropped a few classes. I tried re-enrolling, but now they tell me my high school diploma is banned. As of right now I need 5 more classes to complete my associates and I have a $32,000 loan that I already started paying. I never lied to them and want to know what can I do besides going and getting a GED. Can I try to battle and not do a GED or try to battle so that I don't have to owe the loan if they don't want to accept me with the diploma? Please help.
